Purpose:
Twice a year we award a grant to an amateur photographer to allow them to attend a workshop with one of world's leading travel or humanitarian Photographers such as Ami Vitale, Nevada Weir, Gavin Gough or Matt Brandon

These workshops tend to be expensive but the ability to spend 10-14 days with 1-on-1 coaching and mentoring with such photographers to many is the best way to accelerate their technical competency and to help shift their photographic vision. For many though it is financially outside their reach.

We have negotiated deals with workshop leaders who values, work and reputation is inline with our goals.

Eligibility:
Any amateur photographer of any nationality or sex between 18-65 years of age.

Value:
US$ 2500

Payment:
The foundation pays the workshop leader directly.

Frequency:
2 x per year - May & Oct

Purpose:
Twice a year we award a grant for two photographers to be mentored by either one of the world's leading travel or humanitarian Photographers or by a Photography Business & Marketing Manager.

Mentoring is the ability to ask for and receive objective advice about your photographic goals, aspirations or business. The grant is paid directly to the Mentor and effectively buys 8 hours of their time.

How you use that time is up to you - may be a portfolio review, followed by a series of discussions on Skype or Google hangout. For others it could be spread out as an hour a month for 8 months. You and your mentor can decide!

Any amateur photographer of any nationality or sex between 18-65 years of age.

Value:
US$ 1000

Payment:
The foundation pays the chosen Mentor directly.

Frequency:
2 x 2 per year - Mar & Aug

Once a year we award a significant grant for a working photographer to be work on assignment for an NGO or Charity of their choice.

The aim of this grant is to provide you with a new client and pay you for your work, whilst helping to educate the NGO about the value that a professional photographer can bring to their brand and marketing

Together with an Advisor from Focus For Humanity, we help you and the NGO plan how to make the most of the grant. This might be to cover your travel and substance costs or subsidise a particular shoot's cost. You bill the NGO for your time (up to the value of the grant) and we settle the bill for the NGO
